Faculty

Mr Anil Sawant is a senior expert having 42 yrs of industrial experience and 24 yrs of experience in EHS.  He has headed the EHS function at Mylan, Indofil Chemicals Co, Kopran Ltd, He also headed MMACETP, Mahad – a 6 MLD Common Effluent Treatment Plant with 125 member industries.

Mr Sawant was associated with the National Safety Council as Technical Adviser for 8 years, where he was engaged in Safety Audits, Hazop Study, Safety Survey, Safety Awards Assessment, NSCI Safety Rating, Training and Development across industrial sectors Chemicals, Pharma, Food, Sugar, Power Plants, Steel Plants, Textile, Engineering Plants, Onshore and Offshore Oil platforms.  

He has been instrumental in establishing and developing a Process Risk Assessment Lab for a thermal safety study of new Products / Processes using Reaction calorimeter and ARSST in API at Mylan R&D Centre. He has also conducted a Risk Assessment study for several new products/processes and made recommendations to avert untoward incidents at the plant. Mr Sawant has established EMS and obtained ISO14001 certification by DNV at Indofil. Commissioned and operated Hazardous Waste Incinerator at Indofil.

Mr Sawant is a post-graduate in ‘Organic Chemistry by Research’ from the University of Mumbai and has a post-graduate diploma in ‘Advanced Industrial Safety from Central Labour Institute, Mumbai, and in Industrial Research and Management, Training & Development, Ecology and Environment and IS0 14001.

He has also presented papers on Safety, Health & Environment in National and International conferences. Published technical paper on process safety in an international journal.
