Context Setting
MKU Limited - Kanpur who are the prime manufacturer of optronics devices like night vision binoculars and monoculars, personal and platform armour solutions including as ballistic helmets, armour inserts and bulletproof vests etc. approached CII Naoroji Godrej Centre of Manufacturing Excellence, Mumbai (CII CME) with a requirement of conducting On-site Safety Assessments for its different units based out of the proximity of Kanpur – Uttar Pradesh.
The requirement states to conduct Regular On-Site Safety Assessments on a quarterly basis in 04 of their units at Kanpur – (1) Rooma, (2) Gandhi Gram (3) Shyam Nagar and (4) Fatehpur – Malwan.
Objective
The objective of conducting these safety assessments will be to help the Management of MKU Limited to understand and take actions on the areas of improvement of their line of work from the safety perspective. Post the assessment, a feedback report will be required to be submitted to the Top Management highlighting the positive observations and the areas of improvement. Corrective actions will be taken and as a part of the hand holding, a follow-up assessment will be carried out by CII CME after a stipulated amount of time to check and confirm the visible improvement in their process.
