Context Setting

A Supervisor has a critical role to play in the industry. He is responsible not just for supervision of the job but is equally responsible for managing safety and creating a safe work environment in his area of work. More than fifty percent of safety incidents occur due to lack of supervision and a Supervisor is best equipped to prevent safety incidents. Therefore he should be empowered through proper training in various safety requirements for his role.

• His / her Safety Responsibilities including his / her Role and Reporting Responsibilities,
• HIRA,
• Job Safety Analysis,
• Toolbox Talk,
• Incident Investigation,
• Emergency preparedness, Fire and First Aid,
• LOTO (Lockout & Tagout) and PTW (Permit to Work),
• Preparing the Safety MIS.
