Online Programme on Electrical & Fire Safety
Context Setting
Electrical infrastructure in India is
increasing rapidly, so is the number of accidents due to
electricity. Statistics show that nearly 50% of building fires are
caused by electrical reasons such as a short circuit. Therefore, it is crucial
to incorporate safety guidelines at each stage of a project i.e. design,
installation, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance - especially in
low voltage systems, where the majority of accidents happen.
Electrical
and Fire Safety in industries is of paramount importance and
employees must be well-versed in identifying hazards & associated
risks with electrical systems and equipment, thus, preventing
accidents and responding effectively during emergencies.
