No organization or individual desires to have any incident/accident. Also, it is repeatedly said that every incident/accident is preventable. However, ground reality is far from our desire and expectation. Suddenly an incident occurs that challenges the implemented Safety management system and procedure. In serious cases it costs the organization in terms of loss of life, loss of property, loss of moral of employees and threat to reputation. This workshop will help participants to develop understanding of incident/accident management and exploring ways for prevention

Faculty

Mr. Anil Sawant

Mr. Anil Sawant is a senior expert having 42 yrs. of industrial experience and 24 yrs. of experience in EHS.  He has headed EHS function at Mylan, Indofil Chemicals Co, Kopran Ltd, He also headed MMACETP, Mahad – a 6 MLD Common Effluent Treatment Plant with 125 member industries.

He was associated with National Safety Council as Technical Advisor for 8 years, where he was engaged in Safety Audits, Hazop Study, Safety Survey, Safety Awards Assessment, NSCI Safety Rating, Training and Development across industrial sectors Chemicals, Pharma, Food, Sugar, Power Plants, Steel Plants, Textile, Engineering Plants, On shore and Offshore Oil platforms.   He has been instrumental in establishing and developing Process Risk Assessment Lab for thermal safety study of new Products / Processes using Reaction calorimeter and ARSST in API at Mylan R&D Centre. He has also conducted Accident investigations, Risk Assessment study for several new products/processes and made recommendations to avert untoward incidents at plant. He has established EMS and obtained ISO14001 certification by DNV at Indofil. Commissioned and operated Hazardous Waste Incinerator at Indofil.

Mr. Sawant is a postgraduate in ‘Organic Chemistry by Research’ from University of Mumbai and has a post graduate diploma in ‘Advanced Industrial Safety’ from Central Labour Institute, Mumbai, and in Industrial Research and Management, Training & Development, Ecology and Environment and ISO 14001.

He has made presentations on Safety, Health & Environment in National and International conferences. Also, published technical paper on process safety in international journal.
