CII Virtual Workshop on 'FEMA and RBI Guidelines for Importers' 27 February 2025 : 02:00 pm to 05:00 pm
Context Setting
Importers are required to comply with FEMA 1999 and Reserve Bank of India regulations and instructions, besides compliance to other regulations, in respect of their import business. Also, with the use of technology for monitoring the import transactions through ICEGATE/ECCS/ IDPMS, it has now been more important for importers to understand the regulations and guidelines, so as to comply with the same, but also understand how these can be used to facilitate completion and closure of the transactions.
Also, importers need to know the facilities granted by RBI, under FEMA 1999, for undertaking specific transactions relating to Merchanting Trade and High Sea Sales, and financing of imports through Trade Credit and use of import letters of credit.
This workshop is therefore, curated to make importers aware of the guidelines, issued by Reserve Bank of India, which exporters should know for doing business with compliance.
